Bringing Trades Training Directly to Your Nation

Strong Foundations is a 12-week, on-reserve training program for First Nations youth ages 18–29. Participants gain basic skills and an understanding of the Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC trades, to move into jobs or seek out further trades training.

Essential Skills training, including Trades Math and English
A 3-week work experience placement tailored to your Nation’s needs

Resume writing, interview preparation, and job-search support

Program Snapshot

12 Weeks Total
Section A (8 weeks): In-class trades training + Essential skills
Section B (4 weeks): Work Experience + Career Prep
Note: Participants must achieve 75%+ to advance to Section B.
