Introduction to Water and Wastewater Systems

Course Description
This course covers the very basics of the water and wastewater industry and has been specifically developed to provide new operators, trainees and any public works staff who are interested in learning about the water/wastewater industry with a basic knowledge of the water/wastewater field. It’s a self-paced online course, and should take between 1-6 months to complete depending on work schedules, but can also be completed in as little as 1 week if schedule permits. There will be a final exam (proctored by the CRTP) that would require a 70% passing mark in order to receive the course certificate and the associated CEU’s (submitted to AEP and pending approval). NOTE: This is NOT a certification preparation course but rather an “introduction” into water and wastewater field with a high focus on workplace safety!

• New water/ wastewater systems operators & trainees/summer students
• Public works supervisors/managers interested in learning more about water/wastewater
• Experienced operators that may need the course CEU’s for certification renewal
