A HUGE congratulations and thank you to Tsuut’ina Nation for becoming the FIRST TEAM to use TSAG’s Community Programming Tools and host their very own THRIFT FAIR!

And what a way to kick things off!

The Tsuut’ina team took the idea of reuse, sharing, community and sustainability and absolutely ran with it—creating an incredible event that showed just how powerful (and fun!) giving things a second life can be.

AND THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!

In just around FIVE HOURS:

• • 350–420 items were thrifted and given a new home!
  • The biggest single haul was an incredible 41 items!
  • More than 800 pieces were donated by the community!

800+ donated items! That is an amazing show of community participation—and hundreds of opportunities to keep perfectly usable clothing circulating rather than becoming waste.

TSAG was truly honored to attend, support and work alongside the Tsuut’ina Nation team to help host this milestone event. From collecting and sorting hundreds of donations to organizing the space, welcoming participants and keeping everything moving throughout the day, the team did an AMAZING job!

This is exactly what the TSAG Thrift Fair initiative is about: creating a fun, welcoming and inclusive space where communities can put reuse, sharing and sustainable fashion into action. Our Planning Guide was developed so communities can take the concept, make it their own and build an event that can be repeated year after year.
