DESCRIPTION:TSAG Transfer Station Operations Training\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				TSAG is holding a one day Transfer Station Basics course on Thursday\, November 5th\, 2026 at the Courtyard by Marriott Edmonton West. This course will be held following our Beyond the Bin workshop on November 3rd and 4th. We encourage participants to sign up for both the Beyond the Bin workshop and the Transfer Station Basics course. \nParticipants in the Transfer Station Basics course will learn to: \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				IDENTIFY \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\nDifferent waste stream categories and which streams are recyclable and/or recoverable\nThe function of key infrastructure elements of a transfer station\nNon-compliant waste stream materials\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				RECOGNIZE\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\nPrograms and markets available to your community\nThe importance of data collection\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				UNDERSTAND\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\nFundamentals of an integrated waste management system\nEnvironmental controls and regulations\nThe importance of maintaining a healthy and safe environment\nIssues and challenges associated with planning\, designing\, and operating a transfer station\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				WHO SHOULD ATTEND?\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Public Works Directors and Managers\, Transfer Station Operators and Garbage Truck Drivers \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				ACCOMMODATIONS\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements.
