Our Mandate & Operations
TSAG’s mandate is to help grow dynamic and innovative First Nation (Alberta) communities within the follow areas:
- Technical services.
- Fire and safety coordination and information sharing.
- Environmental management.
- Housing.

Our scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
- Coordination, liaison and information sharing among First Nations technical services providers and staff.
- Providing training for staff of Tribal Councils and First Nations in Alberta.
As technology needs of First Nations communities evolve, TSAG grows and adjusts its mandate with one purpose in mind; to provide state-of-the-art technical services and training to First Nation communities throughout Alberta.
Our Operating Principles
TSAG takes direction from the Chiefs of Alberta. TSAG will only proceed in a manner that recognizes and respects the spirit and intent of the Treaties, without prejudice to Treaties #6, #7, and #8, and ensures that no trust or fiduciary responsibilities are abrogated or derogated.
Initiatives of TSAG are always mandated by the Chiefs of Alberta and carried out with due caution, in consultation with the Chiefs' Steering Committee on Technical Services and other affected First Nation organizations.
TSAG will always ensure that the resources allocated to it are used for the benefit of all First Nations in Alberta.
TSAG will always practice open communication, sharing information and technical expertise freely with First Nations organizations in Alberta.
TSAG will always contribute to the capacity of First Nations in Alberta to improve their quality of community life.
TSAG will always respect the right of individual First Nations to Technical Services provider.
